Richard Hughes

Richard Lee Hughes Jr 90 of Pittsburgh Pa went on home to be with the lord on December 22, 2022 Mr Hughes was born March 15th 1932 in Reynolds,Ga.to Mrs Emma Dunning Hughes and the late Richard Lee Hughes Sr. He attended the Taylor County school district. As a teenager he worked on a farm and also cut down trees for a living. He was united in marriage and moved to Pittsburgh, Pa.in 1958 and resided in the Hill District. Richard worked for Bruno’s construction for many years and also worked for Bill Delaney Car Wash. For past time pleasure he enjoyed watching T.V. ( sports, westerns and game shows)playing pool at Singer Bar, fishing and going camping in the mountains with his friends and sons. Later in life Richard remarried to Ms Betty Lee and after extensive years of employment he retired from NorthSide Buick in Manchester. Any day of the week you could find Mr. Hughes on Federal St.at J.Rs hotdog shoppe or at Lillian’s restaurant on E. Ohio St.finishing his routine with his weekly shopping at Giant Eagle. His presence will be greatly missed. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Betty Hughes, (Sister )Sara Andrews, (Brothers) Felton and Randolph Hughes and ( Stepdaughter) Ernestine Ross. He leaves to cherish his memory (Mother) Emma Hughes, (Daughters) Rose Hughes and Carrie Peters of Pgh. Linda Willis, (James) of Macon, Ga. (Sons) Richard, (Lynn)Beasley, and Bennie (Christine) Miller of Jonesboro, Ga. (Stepchildren) Ronald (Dorothy) Beasley, Jerome (Joyce) Beasley of Kentucky, Romona Beasley, Dewayne Beasley and Douglas Lee. ( First Cousin) Sam Terrell from Butler, Ga. A host of Grandchildren and Great grandchildren and Great great grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and friends. Public viewing will be held Friday, January 6, 2023 from 10am until time of Service 11am held at Calvin L Sheffield Funeral Home Inc 1125 Allegheny Ave Pittsburgh Pa 15233.
